Project badges

The project badges are an acknowledgement of the contribution that a member has made to one of the research projects running at World Community Grid. The badges are displayed:

• On the My Grid "Statistics By Projects" section.
• On the publicly visible member information page.
• As part of the personal information area adjacent to posts in the World Community Grid forums.

Award levels

There are currently 7 levels of badges. Each level reflects a minimum amount of computer runtime for a project. The tooltip for each badge shows the project name and achievement level. The color coded background indicates the level of achievement either with bronze, silver, gold, ruby, emerald, sapphire, and diamond.

All the badges are listed on the global By Projects statistics page.

A badge is only awarded once:

1. The minimum amount of work required has been completed and validated for a single project.
2. The next My Contribution page statistics update, twice daily, has completed.

In 2014, World Community Grid added the seventh level badge, diamond. Upon completing the first six badges (bronze to sapphire), users are eligible to receive diamond badges for 5, 10, 20, 50, and 100 years of computation on a project. All diamond badges have a similar appearance, albeit with a number indicating the number of years of contribution.
